APM is formulated so that vitamin C is stabilized by forming a phosphateester with its most unstable part.

APM is formulated as a magnesium salt to keep it stable in a water-soluble state.

APM occurs as a white powder.

Aqueous solution containing 3% APM is weakly alkaline (pH 7 to 8.5) and causes no acidic irritation unlike vitamin C. Bulk of 100% APM contains about 46% vitamin C.
