Introduction |
In 2005, The National
Toxicology Program (NTP) which was U.S.A. nation toxicity test project examined
indication in wide toxicity test and external use of all kinds of ascorbic acid
used for cosmetics and external preparation and ascorbic acid phosphoric acid
and announced the detailed report which I evaluated the safety some other time,
and extended to 60 pages. As a result, I reported that that there were not a problem
in particular and the toxicity was shown in external use of ascorbic acid, application
and was clear in ascorbic acid was effective. And ascorbic acid applied to skin
shifted to a skin organization and showed protection effect for ultraviolet rays
exposition, ascorbic acid phosphoric acid restrained a skin tumor by an UV disorder
and it confirmed what hyperplasia restrained 1). According to the following reason,
what NTP reevaluated as a national project about an application effect to skin
of an ascorbic acid derivative is thought of. Rev. a lot of dermatologists came
to recommend application to skin of an ascorbic acid derivative recently in addition
to a cosmetics maker. In addition, an effect of an ascorbic acid derivative can
expect most indication which seem to be melanin generation inhibition, ultraviolet
rays exposition damage depression, active oxygen erasing, anti-acne, collagen
biosynthesis, organization derivation, matrix architecture acceleration between
cells, wound healing. The use how a dermatologist uses ascorbic acid for is "anti-oxidation"
of skin, and they use it for anti-aging. 2). History of external use pharmaceutical
of vitamin C (L- ascorbic acid) is old, and an image to be effective in making
anti-aging and skin beautiful with vitamin E (tocopherol) fixes in general aspect.
L- ascorbic acid and tocopherol play an important role in a fact, numerous redox
control molecules in organism. A study of vitamin C is one of an important field
recently, and a topic of genetic anti-aging and atopy will be nothing of the theme
that is a master by a skin-related study. For example, vitamin C E restores DNA
lesion such as thymine dimer caused by ultraviolet rays B in human keratinocyte
. There is the report that vitamin C in breast milk of a mother having an atopic
disorder reduces atopy of infant to. 3) 4) 5). Skin application preparation containing
L- ascorbic acid, tocopherol has the strong anti-oxidation power, but is easy
to discoloration in preparation. The use of a Vitamin C derivative has been reviewed
in Japan since 1960, and a lot of ester derivatives are used as cosmetics raw
materials in order to improve stability of vitamin C. We think that anti-oxidation
vitamins and it's derivative which seem to be vitamin C E are the materials which
are required in order to let "Anti aging" and "Quality of life" fill up in future,
and the importance rises more in future.
